MELVILLE FIRE DISTRICT
The Melville Fire District is a municipality governed by the Board of Fire Commissioners, consisting of five members. Each member serves a five-year term and is elected by the residents of the district. The Secretary, Treasurer and Attorney for the district are appointed officials of the district.The Melville Fire District is responsible for the purchase and maintenance of buildings, vehicles and equipment for the operation of the Melville Volunteer Fire Department. All expenses are paid for with funds obtained from real property taxes.
The Melville Fire District and the Melville Volunteer Fire Department work closely together to meet the needs of the residents and visitors within the Melville Fire District.
